Originally by: Irot Noot Some extra info for my post earlier.
The two updates went fine, I was able to log into the game and play, everything was fine.
But then I started messing in the new anti-aliasing features... 1x, 2x, 4x, all seemed to work, but when I tried the 8xQ setting, black screen, no recover. Had to use the command-option-esc button sequence to kill Eve (this is the key command for Force Quitting an app in 10.6).
Following the advice a thread somewhere in here I deleted the core_public__.dat and when I restarted Eve again, it worked again. From looking around, it seems to only have changed my anti-alias settings back to disabled, which let me work again.
This file can be found be opening Finder and going to: Users/<your username>/Library/Preferences/Eve Online Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings/core_public__.dat
Your milage may vary, but this fixed me after I messed it up. Just a thought, but might this be an anti-aliasing problem between OS X versions and certain cards??
try this. didn't work. but atleast you are trying to help. maybe you should get my %14.95

Originally by: Namyri'el mate, first of all... the upgrade to 10.6 is only about $20... it isn't and has never been over $100
Secondly, 10.6 is pretty much 10.5.8 FIXED. It's actually EASIER for older computers to run, and offers support for a winder variety of applications. So... why NOT upgrade?
For me, it was a laziness issue. I've even bought the disk - it's sitting on my desk - but I haven't popped it in and gone through the upgrade. Going to be doing that tonight. But, really.... in this particular case, asking everyone at 5.8 to move to 6 is not so very different from asking 5.6 users to install 5.8. I DO agree that CCP needs to give the mac users a bit more attention - *hinthint, a native client* - but this particular fight isn't worth getting your knickers in a bunch over.
It's just annoying this time of year. Most of us very busy. last night was my last free night this week to play. "If" I'm lucky I will have enough time to upgrade tonight. I'm not sure if I'm even training a skill or not. I believe I had 2 days worth queued up, but nothing is showing on my character sheet or eve-board. And the point is 10.5 was OK when we clicked "yes", so it should be all good.

I'm just going to flip ccp the bird and go buy snow leopard. You know when ccp fixes anything they break 10 other things. For those who plan to stay on leopard make sure you hit me up in '12 when they got all this sorted.

If anyone with 10.6 is complaining in any of the 15 threads, I've missed it. Leaving the office in about an hour, plan to stop at the first Bestbuy I see during this evenings travels.

Originally by: The Drakonian Tried installing new Incursion 1.02 patch and , like every other recent patch on the MAC, it crashes half way through. Anyone else having patch on Mac problems or is it just me.
Have petitioned with log attached.
Getting fed up now... cataclysm looks appealing!!

Ridiculous, simply ridiculous.
Congratulations CCP and a very merry xmas to you!!

Went to Bestbuy. Picked up Snow leopard and an external HD, setup that time capsule thing. After an hour I'm only half through system backup. Doesn't look like I'm going to snow tonight. And since we haven't heard from ccp in hours I didn't bother trying to login again. I had to force power down at least a dozen times yesterday.
